Lady cop in Bangalore attacked,IAS officer’s wife arrested

An IAS officer’s wife, identified as Anuja Pande, was arrested by Cubbon Park police from her Koramangala residence a day after Ulsoor Gate police station inspector Anjumala T Nayak was assaulted by her.
Anuja, wife of Hubli Electricity Supply Company (Hescom) managing director Pankaj Kumar Pande, had assaulted Anjumala when the she had stopped her from entering through Gate no.1 of Chinnaswamy Stadium before the Celebrity Cricket League match between Karnataka Bulldozers and Mumbai Heroes.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) T Suneel Kumar said Anuja was arrested from her house around 4pm and produced before Justice Kiran Keni.
Anuja is however out on interim bail until February 6.
The Cubbon Park police had visited Anuja’s residence in Koramangala in the morning, but she could not be found. However, they found her at home in the afternoon, and they arrested her.
The assault on Anjumala was a result of a verbal abuse by Anuja’s 11-year-old son when the mother and son had exited the stadium to help some other friends and relatives enter the stadium during the break.
Police commissioner BG Jyothi Prakash Mirji has promised strict action.
